A night At the office

Post by Eli Libemen on Sat Aug 15, 2015 8:02 pm

The sunless day had been nice, it had given Eli a rare chance to  speak to the subordinates. He had also taken a small trip to see the greatest center of american bureaucracy, The Department of Motor Vehicles. He Crushed the mortals at there own game.

The days carried on and with the sun return once again to the sky it was back to the regular routine of pretending to be in the office all day, forcing the mortals to stay late so they can work on the cases, or the more "friendly" option of video conferencing in to meetings while "out with clients".The fact of the matter with plenty of presence, dominate, computer editing software, and a benefits package to rival fortune 500 companies no one really wants to ask why the boss never seen at the day.

That is not the work that he enjoyed the most, that's not what he had built this firm for. He wanted to make sure that  His brothers and sisters , Stayed strong, uninhibited, on the right course. The morals of the sons of Seth are an unnecessary wait on the mind and actions of true Cainites. So he leaves the office open to any member of the sword of Cain who needs the worries the mortal worlds expunged, there spiritual needs met, or some combination of both.

Marcellus looked up from his desk as Gregor walked in.
"Our most recent client was quite grateful for our services and sends his thanks."
Marcellus smiled faintly. Protecting the kine from their own government had never been the true goal of the firm, but that didn't prevent it from bringing in a lot of money. He had also been grateful for the opportunity to make a rare courtroom appearance during the day of no sun, and remind those underneath him that he could still persuasively argue a case, if the need arose.
Thank goodness for Gregor, he thought idly. Without him, I might have to handle all of this nonsense myself. The gift of Gregor's services from the Bishop in Memphis had been one of the most valuable gifts he had received in his unlife. After all, the Grimaldi line of revenants had rudimentary understanding of the Dominate discipline, and being able to issue a one-word command to any mortal judge (like acquit or convict) was a powerful tool in the courtroom.
"Tell our client that should he need any help in the future, we'd be happy to serve him again."
Although I'd rather serve the disgusting swine up for dinner. Marcellus thought ruefully. The firm hadn't been in Pittsburgh for long, but somehow word had already begun to spread amongst the less-desirable parts of the city that Lieberman, Angelos, and Wright were the attorneys of considerable skill and repute, especially if you weren't what anyone else would call...innocent. Gregor's contacts in the underworld served not to commit crimes on their behalf, but to direct those who already had towards the legal firm.
"Any word yet on what's causing this unexpected solar eclipse?" Marcellus asked.
"Thousands, sir. Each is more unlikely than the next."
"Unfortunate, but not unexpected. Do they know if it will persist through tomorrow as well?"
"Without a clue as to its cause, there's no clear timeline for when it might end."
Marcellus nodded. It was what he had expected to hear.
"Inevitably, someone will link this to some sign of the end times. Make sure that we're the law firm of choice  for anyone wanting to resolve...disputes that may arise in the resulting panic."
"Of course, sir."
Marcellus considered emailing an update on their most recent client to Eli, but stopped himself. It would take Eli a good fifteen minutes just to figure out how to open the stupid thing. Better call him instead. He speeddialed Eli from his office phone, browsing through various online news sources' explanations of the eclipse while it rang.

Eli Sat as his desk reviewing the files of today's transactions and cases, he smiled as flipped to a case that had a surprise change of its head lawyer today.

"i'm glad Marcellus enjoyed his day" Eli thought as he review the case. He was not even slightly surprised that the innocent verdict came back in less then 5 mins. " He is Growing surprisingly well"

He turned around in his chair as that annoying buzzing started coming from his phone. The caller id was clear enough to see in the dark office so he answered with " Mr. Angelos! Speak of the devil. I see you enjoyed your self today"

A stray thought drifted through Eli's head as the sentence finished "well not the devil , You could be far worse Marcellus." Twisted Evil
