P.T. (Murphy/Lacy ChopShop)

Post by Murphy on Tue Jul 09, 2013 11:00 pm

Murphy woke up from his restless sleep early tonight. The sun was just setting as he approached the entryway of his haven. He smiled to himself remembering the early mornings spent running miles on end so many years ago.
The local news said tonight was going to be hot and rainy. It would be best to not ruin all of his clothing, and any idiot running laps through Pittsburgh with a jacket on would probably stick out, so he rolled up his BDU's and took off his shirt.
He stopped on his way out of the haven to grab the old barred framework above the entrance. Quickly he did his 20 chin-ups, dropped to the ground and did 100 crunches. He smirked, ever since the embrace, his times have been cut almost in half. Tonight, he would take it even further.
He stretched his legs, mostly out of habit, and took off down the path where the train tracks used to be. He mapped his course earlier on the internet and knew just how long through the woods he would have to run to make his 3 mile run.
By the time he returned, the rest of the pack was stirring. He walked over beside Lacy.
"You ready? I just warmed up."

Murphy hears behind him the telltale *pop* *pop* *pop* of Lacy's vertebrate.  He is stretching his shoulders and back.  "So, Murph, I know you've been doing PT for some time.  This is unfortunate, as the most difficult are those with so little to learn.  If you were some pudgy shovelhead, I could have this into your skull in a hour.  But, no, you are a fine specimen of the Cainite Form.  Tonight we jog in style!"  Lacy then picks up what looks quite like a winter vest.

"Here we will teach you to take all of your training, and take it to levels that are well past kine," and he throws the garment at Murph. "Get dressed, maggot!" he barks.

"Sir, yes, Sir!" Murphy barks out instinctively. Then shakes his head, reminding himself to not settle back into the role order-follower so easily.

He pauses slightly at the weight of the parka. Although appearing fluffy the thing had to weigh a good 50-100 pounds. He shook it gently to hear the sound of lead shot rustling inside the padding.

He throws on his jacket, re-tightens his shoes, and heads off down the trail. "How far are we going tonight?"

Lacy smiles and laughs a bit under his breath. "Don't worry Murph, we will break you of that reaction eventually.  It's not distance tonight, it's elevation.  Tonight is about exhaustion.  If you can still move at midnight, we are coming back here for some more extensive feats."

Jogging with a similar weighted coat on, Lacy keeps pace with Muprh.   "So, are you familiar with the tunnels into Downtown proper?" Lacy mentions on the trail.

"You mean the old subway tunnels? Yea, when I was looking up our tunnels, I found info on them. Are we going up and over, or down and under?"

Before breaking away from his packmate "We are going up over, down, up, over, down, up over down, up over down, until midnight." He books it down the path double time "Keep up!"

Murphy smirks, "You got it."
Murphy double-times it down the path, pushing his limits and overtaking Lacy at first.

Eventually, his reserves draining, Murphy slows down and Lacy catches up. The urge to strengthen his muscles with Blood rises up, but he resists. He has to find the strength in his will not in his Blood.

Lacy looks over at his flagging jogging partner "Good, here is where the real money from the movie is made." as he lets Murph take the lead. Moments later the weight on Murph's poor frame doubles. "I could do this all night, how about you"" says the now unladen Lacy.

Murphy's shoulders buckle momentarily under the weight.  He falls to a knee and grunts as he pushes himself back upright.
"I can go for a week," he pants between deep gasps.
His eyes narrow, and he smiles again, thinking to himself, "Is that air you're breathing?"
Voices in the distance scream to him, "Sit down... get some rest... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... Push it! You can't do this! Go! Enemies inbound, heavy ordinance, get cover, GO GO GO!!! SHHH...     Is he gonna do it?!?"
His eyes clench shut.  "ENOUGH," he snaps.
One last deep breath as he centers himself.  He rolls his neck as his vertebrae crack, and he takes off again, faster than before.  The fatigue in his muscles disappears and his body is alight with sensation.  The rush reminds him of his first kill.
